We just can’t hang around waiting for scientists to prove how to turn around our kids’ ADHD, slow down cognitive decline or find a cure for Alzheimer’s. The latest research in medical nutrition points to a list of diet and lifestyle factors over which we have or can get control that strongly correlate with preservation of cognitive function and even the reversal of cognitive decline. Trouble is, the deeply individual differences among people and our interior and exterior environments make it hard to know which changes are best for each individual. Science doesn’t move fast enough to tell us with certainty what to eat for dinner; we each have to make that decision right now, every day. What will we eat, drink and breathe? How will we improve sleep? How can we engage in the relationships and community supports associated with long life and vibrant mental health?

Members will share books on nutrition and wellness, watch videos by nutrition-oriented neurologists and do light homework like journaling specific experiments. Periodically guest presenters will feature special themes for parents of children with learning issues and adult children concerned about aging parents.
There will be a range of menus, from vegan to Paleo to ketogenic. Food preparation takes place from 11:30 to 12:15 or so; eating and meeting takes place about 12:30 to 1:20; everyone helps with clean up. People with food intolerances must be there for food prep and to make sure only permitted foods go on their plates.
