    The focus of this meeting is macrobiotic cooking and related healthy lifestyle ideas. This dinner is nearly (but not 100%) gluten-free, as we may prepare food in the traditional way using Japanese shoyu (soy sauce) and barley miso; thus, this meeting is not appropriate for people with Celiac disease. All meals will be organic, seasonal, without sugar or other processed food, and dairy-free. Vegans, vegetarians and omnivores are welcome. Please note that our homes have cats and stairs. This meeting is vegan.

    We recognize the common-sense link between food and health, and are interested in exploring ideas related to:

    • Incorporating seasonal, organic, and non-processed foods into one's diet.
    • Understanding the energetics of food to help well-being.

    Participants will learn how to:

    • Grow vegetables and herbs
    • Compost for productivity
    • Propagate plants and flowers
    • Garden in small or unusual spaces
    • Create their own tea blends
    • Cook with fresh herbs, make herbal infusions and vinegars
    • Brew kombucha, and start other home fermentations

    Are you a woman who turns to food for reasons other than satisfying hunger? Do you want to be released from eating as a coping mechanism?     We will prepare and eat a delicious and robust lunch, together from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM in Princeton, NJ. This meeting is for experienced members and is limited to 10 spots. Discussion will be a study of the Suppers Concepts. In order to participate, members have a familiarity with and come to discuss them. Once formed, each 6-week cycle becomes a closed meeting with the expectation that attendance will be regular.

    Join the experiments! Learn which styles of cooking and eating keep you energetic, alert and content. It's probably the foods that also support stable blood sugar in your unique, highly individual body. Members will select menus from a range of eating styles for which there is reasonable evidence that they can normalize blood sugar when well matched to the needs of the eater. We'll try vegan, raw vegan, vegetarian, omnivore and ketogenic meals -- and then you get to decide which are best for you. Members will be asked to share favorite books on nutrition and wellness, participate in light homework like journaling specific experiments, or vetting instructional videos to share with the group.

    This meeting takes place every 4th Thursday at lunchtime. Food preparation takes place from 11:30 to 12:30; eating and meeting takes place from 12:30 to 1:30; everyone helps with clean up. People with food intolerances must be there for food prep and to make sure only permitted foods go on their plates. Those who have not attended Suppers before should arrive at noon for a newcomer orientation.

    The purpose of this monthly meeting is to support women who have experienced a diagnosis and treatment of cancer. The menus are based on Paleo and anti-inflammatory diet protocols. In addition, Mireille's philosophy of "It's not just what we eat, but we eat" will inform this meeting, as the group will regularly do a consciousness practice on how we eat wisely and learn how to put the body in "rest and digest" mode. Discussion topics will include Suppers concepts, stress reduction, getting support from friends and family, along with themes from the book Anticancer: A New Way of Life by David Servan-Schreiber.     This three session (5/6, 5/13, 5/20) Mindful Eating and Stress Management Training will focus on the following:

    • The basics of a mindful eating practice 
    • Understanding the importance of mindfulness meditation practice for a mindful eating practice
    • Learning concrete mindful eating techniques (8 types of hunger, ways to slow down the eating, 6 BASICS to a daily mindful eating practice etc.)
    • Learning the foundational skills for mindful eating practice
    • How to teach formal and informal meditation techniques
    • Participants will be given handouts for training others to eat mindfully and meditate

    Dive deeper into the connections between whole food preparation, restoration of family tables, and creating an environment for change at our upcoming Facilitator Training. Learn all the skills you need to give the gift of Suppers -- to serve you in your life and at your meetings. We’ll cook and eat together, breakdown menu and meeting prep, and how to facilitate group dynamics that fuel meaningful change for Suppers participants. You’ll take home our book, Logical Miracles, plus helpful handouts, meeting scripts, discussion ideas, Suppers tote bag, and your very own talking spoon!
